The trail mostly follows the marked hiking trail "Kajbumščak Path". The start is in front of the Museum of Krapina Neanderthals on Hušnjakovo Hill (180 meters above sea level), and through Magistratska Street, it ascends to the Old Town of Krapina, where Barbara of Celje, better known as the Black Queen, resided around 1400. Passing through the cave via a forested single track between quaint cottages, the route ascends towards Šušelj Hill (439 meters above sea level), from where the undulating forest path leads to Radoboj's Strahinj. After the 6th kilometer, the ascent towards the Hunting Lodge (500 meters above sea level) begins, where the first refreshment station is located. A beautiful forest path leads you to the Orchid Meadows - Poljane (470 meters above sea level), after which a steep ascent follows (+250 meters elevation gain in less than a kilometer of trail) to the easternmost peak of Strahinj - Sekolje or Hajdino Zrno (738 meters above sea level). The peak of Sekolje is a true garden of the endemic Croatian Iris (Iris croatica), followed by a gentle descent to the pass and then a slightly stronger ascent towards the highest peak of Strahinj - Sušec (846 meters above sea level). After Sušec, a beautiful runnable trail of 1km gently descends to the most beautiful viewpoint on the trail - the Dedek rock, where the second refreshment station will also be located (12.5 km). The trail then passes through the entire Strahinj ridge towards the west, and below the Slon Hill, it descends towards the third refreshment station - a natural spring at the 17.5 km mark. Probably the most challenging part of the race is the ascent to the peak of Brezovica (581 meters above sea level), where it takes just under 2 kilometers to overcome an elevation gain of over 400 meters. Descending from Brezovica leads to the mountain lodge Ačkova hiža, where the fourth refreshment station is located, after which a undulating forest path leads to the peak of St. Three Kings (414 meters above sea level), where the ruins of the church of the same name are located, and from which, with a beautiful view of Krapina, the descent towards the finish line begins. This trail is very demanding due to the length and total elevation gain (the Strahinj ridge with all its peaks and then Brezovica), so we recommend it to experienced and most prepared runners and experienced Neanderthal hunters of large and fast game.

The first half of the trail follows the marked hiking trail "Kajbumščak Path". The start is in front of the Museum of Krapina Neanderthals on Hušnjakovo Hill (180 meters above sea level), and through Magistratska Street, it ascends to the Old Town of Krapina, where Barbara of Celje, better known as the Black Queen, resided around 1400. Passing through the cave via a forested single track between quaint cottages, the route ascends towards Šušelj Hill (439 meters above sea level), from where the undulating forest path leads to Radoboj's Strahinj, where the first refreshment station is located at the 5th kilometer. From Radoboj's Strahinj, passing by old wooden cottages, the ascent begins towards one of the most beautiful viewpoints of Strahinjčica - Babici (522 meters above sea level). During this short but intense ascent, remember the legend of "Dedek, Babica, and Unučica" who turned to stone at that very spot and still stand as rocks to this day. Then follows the ascent along the fire road towards the highest peak of Strahinjčica - Sušec (846 meters above sea level). About ten years ago, a large fire raged at the top of Strahinjčica and its consequences in this area are still visible today. After Sušec, a beautiful runnable trail of 1km gently descends to the second most beautiful viewpoint on the trail - the Dedek rock, where the second refreshment station will also be located (9th km). The trail descends steeply "over the mine" to Krapinske Laze, then through the forest path emerges on the Galge hill above Krapina, from which there is a view towards Hušnjakovo Hill and the finish line, reached by descending through the Old Town. Due to the ascent to the top of Strahinjčica, the trail is demanding, so we recommend it to more prepared runners and prehistoric hunters of small game.
