Lončarija teče

Pottery is flowing because it's beautiful! For over twenty years, we have been organizing races through the pottery tradition, improving the Lončarija teče event every year. The main race route will be even more attractive and slightly longer this time, and we have included the Potičnica route in the event, holding children's races beforehand, because somewhere you have to start. Throughout the day at the playground in Dolenja vas - where the start and finish of all races take place - we create a lively atmosphere for runners and the younger ones. We offer culinary delights of street food, which is not only known for its speed but is a carefully prepared meal. After the closing ceremony, we love to extend the event deep into the night. Welcome to Pottery! Potičnica is a pottery dish for baking, and we used that name for the trail, where it's about exploring the vast forests of Velika Gora, in the shade of centuries-old trees, on a well-marked trail with beautiful views. The first part of the trail is gravel, perfect for a thorough warm-up before tackling the forest trails that will take you to the very top - to the White Rocks - from where you can observe the Ribnica Valley from a relative height of about 500 meters. Then just descend to the finish, and whoever comes first... is the first, but we are all winners."

Without potters, there are no pottery products, so the trail that has more than 20 years of tradition is called Lončar. It is a flat and mostly asphalt trail in the shape of an eight, passing through the villages of Lončarija, providing fans with many opportunities to follow the runners. This year's Lončar, after all these years, will be slightly changed and extended to about 10 kilometers. Tradition is already a beautiful thing, but upgrading tradition is even more beautiful. Therefore, Lončar will offer an even more picturesque path along the levee a kilometer long, where real potters collect raw materials for their products.
