A coastal start at Llandudno offers some of the technical terrain that UTCT and UT100 experience. With a sharp ascent up Suther Peak in the first 10km, strong climbers are put in good stead before heading to Manganese Mines and Vlakkenberg before winding down to the Alphen Trail, a key Aid Station where runners enjoy the celebrations of supporters and spectators cheering them onto the last 20km. Back through Cecilia Forest and Newlands Forest, experience the fast flowing trails before hitting University of Cape Town Aid Station and the climb up to the King's Blockhouse. The final stretch along the contour leads runners back to the Garden's Rugby Club Race Village.

KS16 offers some of the most rewarding views on Table Mountain. Starting in the beautiful Constantia vineyards, it's a race up Table Mountain over the main climb - Constantia Nek - and race on the mountain top set against the backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean. Dropping down onto the Pipe Track, runners get a taste of the technical terrain of Table Mountain running and back to Race Village, ready to celebrate other runners from KS16 and PT55 crossing the finish line.

The 100-miler route ventures from the northern mountain range of the Mother City to the southern mountains and along the Indian and Atlantic coastline. It's a journey that takes runners through varied terrain along the course, as well as pockets of different communities and experiences, with excited energy heading up Kloof Corner, the coastal calm in the Deep South suburbs, and the fanfare at Alphen Trail. The final climb of the day takes runners from the University of Cape Town up to the King's Blockhouse before the contour path winds back down to the finish, where a warm welcome awaits after completing 100 miles on Cape Town Trails.

The 100km race is one of the most competitive of RMB UTCT's distances. A front-loaded technical race from Garden's Rugby Club to Hout Bay and back around the mountain through the lush greenbelts. Views over Table Mountain and Twelve Apostles are the reward for the challenge of the terrain, followed by the fast-flowing forest on the return back. From one of the key Aid Stations at the University of Cape Town, the King’s Blockhouse ascent leads runners back up to the contour path where the Race Village is heard before it is seen.

The race of two big climbs and nearly 2000m of elevation, TM35 has the biggest elevation-to-distance ratio of all RMB UTCT distances. The first climb takes runners onto the top of Table Mountain up Platteklip Gorge. From there, the course features technical descents and some flat, runnable sections, the "400 Stairs" climb along the Newlands contour. Here, runners might start to experience the effect of Cape Town's summer sun as Sunday has historically been the hottest day of the weekend. Dropping down the ravine, runners head into the shaded forest, back through UCT before going up the climb to the King's Blockhouse. From there, it's the final contour stretch back down to Garden's Rugby Club.
