539 Jump

The Trsat Steps lead from the Rijeka Delta to the Church of Our Lady of Trsat and are the shortest route from the center of Rijeka to Trsat. In 1531, Captain Klis, Petar Kružić, had 128 stairs built as a vow on the steepest part of the path. Other stairs were built later, so today the total number of stairs is 561. For our race '539 Jump,' we will seek the fastest and most enduring participants to conquer 539 steps, from the chapel at Titov Square to the plateau on the Joakim Rakovac promenade.
