Each competitor runs four laps of 400 meters, after which they drink a glass of beer in the transition zone. Spilling beer while drinking results in a 30-second penalty before proceeding to the next lap, and properly finishing the beer is confirmed by turning the empty glass upside down on the head. In case of vomiting during the race, the competitor skips the transition zone in that lap and runs an additional lap (without beer). Vomiting during the race outside designated areas results in disqualification. The race ends with the completion of the fourth beer.
