Grafičar Ascent for Non-Licensed Cyclists In collaboration with the licensed race, a dedicated Grafičar ascent is organized for non-licensed cyclists, offering a challenging and rewarding experience. Here are the details for the Grafičar Ascent: Date and Time: Saturday, March 23, 2023, starting at 10:10 AM. Starting Point: Kustošijanska ulica (Paintball Streljana) - The race begins at the end of the asphalt road, transitioning to macadam. Requirements: Participation is open to non-licensed cyclists with a properly functioning MTB or Gravel bike and a helmet. Race Route: The route follows Kustošijanski macadam and bicycle trail 9, incorporating a challenging climb to the Grafičar mountain hut. Categories and Awards: Medals will be awarded to the top three participants in each category. Categories include various age groups for both male and female participants. Registration and Entry Fee: Participants can register by emailing bkvidrocic@gmail.com. The entry fee is 5 EUR. Meeting Point and Time: Participants should gather between 9:00-9:45 at the roundabout in Kustošija/bus station Završje. Start Time: The race starts at 10:00 from Kustošijanska ulica, transitioning from the Paintball Streljana area to the macadam trail. Finish Line: The race concludes at the Grafičar mountain hut. Race Length: The total length of the course is 10.5 km. Elevation Gain: Participants will experience a 761-meter elevation gain, with an average ascent of 5.6%. Description of the Course: The route includes an uphill climb on Kustošijanski macadam to the Risnjak mountain hut. Participants will navigate intersections, follow macadam trails, and make a sharp left turn uphill on bicycle trail 9 or hiking trail 26. The final ascent to Grafičar completes the race. Return: Participants can return by the same macadam route, Sljemenska cesta, or by taking bus ZET 140. The course will not be closed to pedestrians or other park visitors, so participants should exercise caution. Warm tea and refreshments will be provided for all participants and supporters after the race. Participants are encouraged to behave responsibly and respectfully towards cyclists, hikers, and nature.
