Val d’Aran by UTMB® presents TDL – Termières dera Libertat (Borders of Freedom), a new and thrilling 75-kilometer race with 5,100 meters of elevation gain, inviting runners to discover the wildest and most moving essence of the Val d’Aran. Inspired by the hidden paths that, for decades, served as escape routes for those fleeing war, persecution, and repression, the TDL pays tribute to all who crossed these mountains in search of freedom. A course that bridges history and the epic nature of trail running, crossing border passes that once bore silent witness to movements of resistance and hope. This race traces a technical, varied, and spectacular route to Vielha, largely following the reverse course of the legendary VDA up to Bassa d’Oles. From there, it ventures into stunning alpine terrain, passing through iconic locations such as Montcorbison, Pomaròla, Val de Horno, Sarrahera, Cauva, and Santet-Escunhau.

In the heart of the Pyrenees, surrounded by the unmatched beauty of the Val d’Aran, the Vielha 10K is born—a special race that celebrates the spirit of sport, nature, and the dedication of those who make every event possible: volunteers, sponsors, exhibitors, and of course, the runners. Starting and finishing in Vielha, this 8-kilometer course with 600 meters of elevation gain follows trails and paths that showcase just a small glimpse of the region’s unique beauty. Taking place on Wednesday, July 2, after the elite athlete presentation, the race will begin at the Ultra-Trail® Village with a clear goal: to enjoy and share the passion for trail running. Its characteristics have made it one of the most valued challenges of HOKA Val d'Aran by UTMB®. The PDA, Peades d'Aigua, is an authentic adventure through the mountains of Naut Aran. 55 kilometres to let yourself be surprised by a spectacle of incomparable beauty. With 3,300 metres of positive ascent and 3,700 metres of negative ascent, the race starts in the village of Salardú and crosses one of the most impressive places in the Val d'Aran, Colomèrs, the largest glacial lake cirque in the Pyrenees.

The CDH, Camins d'Hèr (Iron Roads), is a journey through some of the wildest areas of the Val d'Aran. It means discovering the mining history of the valley, going through tunnels and mines at the foot of the imposing Mauberme, and immersing yourself in landscapes full of lakes, waterfalls and rivers. Starting in the town of Les, the CDH is 110 kilometres and 6,400 metres of positive height gain during which tradition and nature come together in perfect harmony.

A unique experience. The VDA, the Tour of the Val d'Aran, is much more than a race. It's 163 kilometres of demanding terrain, all of it in pure beauty. It is to cross wild valleys, abandoned mines and cirques of lakes. SKY Promesas: the first big challenge for young trail runners 18K | +900 m | More SKY than ever! SKY Promesas is the perfect opportunity for young athletes to step into the exciting world of trail running. Designed for those born in 2010, 2009, 2008, and 2007, this race offers a unique high-mountain experience, crafted for young runners to enjoy themselves and push their limits. With its new 18 km SKY route and +900 m of elevation gain, the adventure promises maximum excitement: an explosive course that captures the very essence of the Pyrenees in every kilometer. The race starts at Pla de Beret, where young runners will face the first ascent, leading them to some of the most spectacular landscapes of the **Val d’Aran. **The route winds past stunning lakes, such as Estanh de Baciver and the Estanhs deth Clòt der Os, where the second aid station is located—a perfect spot for family and spectators to cheer, even with access via chairlift. Before reaching the summit, the route climbs through the Portilhon de Marimanha, an iconic pass leading to Tuc deth Dossau (2,522 m), one of the most breathtaking viewpoints in the Pyrenees, offering vistas that will leave any young adventurer in awe. With the sky as their companion, only the descent back to Pla de Beret remains, where the finish line awaits with a burst of emotions and the feeling of having conquered a great challenge.
