Popolana - "All for our Una"
This year's Popolana in Rovinj: All for our UNU!
On Sunday, April 7, 2024, join us at Popolana - a sports event organized by the Sports Community of the city of Rovinj-Rovigno, in collaboration with the Red Cross of Rovinj-Rovigno, with the support of the city of Rovinj-Rovigno and the Tourist Board.
Humanitarian Mission
All proceeds from the sale of T-shirts will go towards the therapy of a four-year-old fellow citizen. Support this commendable initiative!
Location and Program
Popolana will take place at the Basketball Courts near the Hotel Eden, due to construction works on the city square. Join in recreational activities, a half marathon, or a relay race.
Humanitarian Contribution
The first Popolana was held in 2007 at the initiative of the City Sports Association of Rovinj with the support of the City of Rovinj, the Tourist Board, and Maistra. Since then, the event has evolved into a large humanitarian action called "1+1=Million Steps," raising funds for needy members of the local community.
Charity and Sports at the Heart of the Event
This year's Popolana, like all previous years, will be dedicated to kindness and humanity. All proceeds from the sale of T-shirts will be donated to the therapy of a four-year-old fellow citizen. Due to construction works on the city square, this year's Popolana will be held at the Basketball Courts near Hotel "Eden," with a humanitarian stand also set up at Pignaton Square in the heart of the city of Rovinj-Rovigno.
New Route, New Challenges
The most significant new feature of the sports program is the return of the Rovinj Half Marathon, while the recreational part includes walking, running on a 5 km route, and guided bike rides of 20-25 km in length. Sign up and support the humanitarian action, and enjoy the isotonic drink HELL, organic beer Kampanjola, and the race T-shirt.

15th Rovinj Half Marathon
This year we are coming back to the old path on the south part of the City.
The half-marathon route runs along the coast from the forest park all the way to Veštar camp, so you can enjoy the view of the Adriatic sea while running. Elevation is around 160 m. Good luck 😉

3rd Relay Race - Joyful Turn
Relay couples will run 2 x 6 km uphill and downhill all the way to BAY CUVI, where the turning point will be located. The first runner will run downhill for 6 km while the second runner waits at the turning point. When the first runner arrives, the second runner will have a slightly tougher task as the way back to the city of Rovinj is uphill 😉
During registration, it is sufficient for only one team member to sign up, but it is mandatory to provide the team name.

The most exciting active weekend in Rovinj awaits you at the beginning of April, just in time for the awakening of spring. Popolana, a recognizable one-day event, is filled with sports and recreational activities, fun for both children and adults, while its commendable humanitarian character can be felt throughout the event.
Participation in these races is enabled by purchasing a T-shirt on the day of the event! The T-shirt does not have a set price; all contributions are voluntary.
