What makes it a game

Unexplored map
Fog of war
The map starts in the dark. You only see what you have actually crossed, and you never know what, or who, is waiting just beyond the edge. Explore further to reveal more of the map and discover new ground to claim.
Defend your land
Ground is taken, not lost
Resting will not cost you land, but it thins its defence, and neglected ground eventually stops paying. You only lose a hex if another player crosses it and takes it from you. Keep moving to protect what you have claimed.
Risk vs reward
Every hex has a price
The more different people have crossed a hex, the more it is worth. City routes are especially valuable, with higher rewards and more competition. The busiest ground can bring the biggest rewards, but it can also be the hardest to hold.
Questions, answered
Yes. Everyone joining now gets every feature, including the premium ones, free for a full year. No card, no trial that quietly ends.
No. Any GPS file works, just export a GPX from your watch, your phone, or Strava. There's no automatic Garmin or other app sync yet, so uploads are manual for now.
No. Ground you've claimed stays yours until another player takes it; it never decays on its own. Points run on a per-tile clock: a tile pays in full for 10 days after you last crossed it, then fades to nothing by day 20. Cross it again and the clock resets.
Other players in your league can open an approved activity and see its route on the map. That's how the game works, your routes are public. There's no private-zone feature yet, so don't start recording at your front door if that matters to you.
Every upload runs a gauntlet before it counts: timestamps, file integrity, the sport matching the league, speed sanity, duplicate detection. Anything odd goes to a human moderator. You can also flag another player's suspicious activity, and any rejected upload loses its tiles immediately.
Points reset to zero and every jersey is up for grabs again, but your territory carries over, and badges and peaks you've claimed are permanent. Once a season ends, it becomes a browsable archive where you can watch the replay of your conquests.
