New Map Heist Season

Two months ago, we launched Map Heist—a game where running, walking, and cycling turn into territory conquest. All it takes is uploading your GPX track to watch your territory grow on the map. But there’s no slacking off; other players can easily weaken or steal your tiles if you don't defend them with fresh activities. This is a game where your kilometers carry real weight!

The game is split into three leagues: Running, Cycling, and Hiking/Walking. You can compete in national leagues, and right now, the European League covering 42 countries is open for free. The Summer League is currently underway, but the Autumn Season kicks off on September 1st. Everyone's points reset to zero, the entire map is back up for grabs, and it’s the perfect time to jump in!

To make things even better, victory isn't reserved just for the overall leaderboard—we have 5 different categories and winners. Each category features its own t-shirt and seasonal badge that stays permanently on your profile if you win it:

• Lynx The Mango — Most overall points and largest territory

• Ibex Climber — Most elevation gain (meters climbed)

• Rabbit Pacer — Fastest average pace in the season

• Fox Raider — Most tiles stolen from other players

• Lamb Rookie — Top player who joined during the current season

Why is September 1st important? The Summer Season ends the day before, and the Autumn Season launches on September 1st. All player scores reset to zero, while territories stay in place but lose their defense. What was completely uncapturable during the summer becomes open for the taking from day one of the fall season.

How to play? In 4 simple steps:

1. Create a profile: Log in or sign up for free.

2. Get moving: Run, walk, hike, or cycle.

3. Log your activity: Upload your GPX track and watch yourself claim new tiles or attack rival territory. Every effort counts!

4. Hold your ground: Every day you hold territory earns you points.
